Firstly you need to decide what you really want. Of course you can write a few letters to our ladies and see what happens. But you need to remember that all the women on our web site are focusing on finding a husband. Before you begin your search you should define what you are looking for in your future wife: her age, level of education, habits, hair and eye colour and so on. You shouldn’t just choose a beautiful picture in our gallery, because you are looking for a partner for all your life and she therefore must be compatible with you as a person. This means you must be careful in your search. Do not forget to describe yourself adequately. Write about your age, education, work, interests, etc.
We would like also to tell you that you shouldn’t think every Russian lady will be happy to have a relationship with you just because you are from the West. Russian woman are looking for real true love, respect and mutual understanding and you shouldn’t expect that your money and citizenship are the only reasons why a nice Russian lady will want to marry you.
We strongly recommend you to contact at least 5-10 ladies in order to increase your chances of a positive result.

Your first letter is the most important letter. It begins your relationship! We are sure that if your first letter is written in the right way it will help you to become closer to your lady more quickly, thus helping you to determine if the two of you are compatible. And of course it will help you to avoid wasting time and money if your relationship doesn’t work out so well.

Here are some pointers and recommendations which might help you in writing your first letter.

1. Address the lady by her name. Even if you send the same letter to several ladies you should write the name of each woman individually. It can be “Hello…” in the first letters but it is better to use “Dear…” in subsequent letters.
2. Introduce yourself. Specify your full name, age, country where you live and city.
3. Let her know where you found her profile and why it attracted you. Was it anything special in her appearance (her beautiful eyes, lovely smile etc.)? Or maybe it was something you liked in her outlook on life. Describe it and don’t be afraid to give her compliments. Russian women like compliments from men very much! They enjoy this because they think it is natural, simply because they are women. But, of course, do not exaggerate, especially in the first letter!
4. Next describe your life: what sort of job you have, your education, family etc. Be open and honest in everything from the very beginning of the relationship. Let her know if you were married before and have some children.
5. Tell her about your hobbies, plans for future, what you are dreaming about and what you expect from your future wife. Try to focus on the keywords that she uses in her profile. This will help her to feel that you are interested in her while reading your letters and help you both to become closer quicker.

This is what we DO NOT RECOMMEND you to write in your first letter to a Russian lady:

1. Do not send your letter without your photo. Ladies will rarely reply to such letters. (It is better to send 2 or even 3 photos with your first letter!)
2. Do not brag about how wonderful you are as a person, your amazing income, material status and the high standard of living in your country. You just should mention that you are able to provide for your future family. Your personality and character, your outlook on life is much more important to most Russian women than your material status.
3. Do not write about your love in the first letter.
4. Do not describe your past divorces and unfortunate relations with women. Leave this until you know her much better.
5. Do not write a very long first letter. The aim of your first letter is to show her that you are a serious person and you liked her profile on our website. One page should be more than enough.
6. Do not get into topics which might be very controversial. (Politics, religion, etc.) Leave such matters for later when your relationship is closer.
7. Do not write poems or songs as they can’t be translated well.
8. Do not use unusual words, slang or dialect as these might be hard to translate. Try to use Standard English grammar as this will be helpful with regard to avoiding misunderstandings during translation. Use a spell checker.
